Meet Mrs. Clark
About Me
My name is Kaitie Clark and through the magic of caffeine, I am quite the morning person. I love white cheddar popcorn, watching mindless sitcoms, and using my job as an excuse to binge read young adult novels. Through delegating responsibilities and encouraging problem solving, my goal as a teacher is to create internally motivated, independent, critical thinkers.
Penelope
I don't think I can fully explain who I am without talking about our precious golden-doodle Penny (pictured above). My husband and I got her last summer and have spent every second loving on her. She is independent, spoiled rotten, and loves napping, just like her mom.
Journey to Toomer
My first three years, I taught in Newton County, my hometown. This is a growing town that is about 30 miles east of Atlanta. After marrying my husband and moving to the Decatur area, the commute began to be too much and I began looking for options closer. In 2015, I began working for City Schools of Decatur at the 4/5 Academy. This past Spring, my husband and I purchased a home in Kirkwood. I began to feel the immense sense of community surrounding the Kirkwood/Edgewood area. I believe strongly in the mission of the public schools here and am 100% invested in making a difference in the community I live in. I am very excited to begin my first year in Atlanta Public Schools with you all.
Education
I went to the University of Georgia for my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education (Go Dawgs!) and will forever be in love with Athens, GA. In 2015, I received my M. Ed in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University.
