Well, kind of.
For this Unit of Inquiry "How we Express Ourselves," our Genius Hour project was focused on learning how those with hearing impairments communicate. We focused on American Sign Language and learned the Pledge of Allegiance. It will be played on the morning announcements each day this week. The video is below if you would like to watch it! Those children who get pulled out during Genius Hour have also been learning bits of Sign Language with us. Unfortunately, due to time, they were not here while we recorded. :( Don't forget about Literary Cafe tomorrow (6 - 8) and Alvin Ailey on Thursday!

We have had SO much fun during our unit on sounds trying to figure out the best way to make household items create the best sound. Through our inquiry, we were able to figure out that creating an environment that encourages vibration is the way to get the best sound. What kind of sounds can you make at your home using objects lying around the house?
